The BWFCST are contacting all secondary schools in the Bolton Borough on behalf of Bolton Wanderers Supporters’ Trust to ask if schools would like to take part in the formation of a youth advisory board (YAB).

Our Supporters’ Trust was established in 2016 when the club was experiencing serious financial and governance issues. The club also entered administration in 2019 and has been literally within hours of extinction during recent years.

The current owners FootballVentures have now introduced a level of stability and have reached out to the Supporters’ Trust since acquiring control of the club which has resulted in the Trust becoming involved in several initiatives over recent seasons including establishment of the Fanzone, voting on kit selection for fans and free family tickets for Bolton Primary Schools.

This relationship and level of engagement resulted in the club and the Trust winning the EFL fan engagement award for season ‘22/‘23. The first time this has ever happened in the club’s history. We are now looking to build on this relationship and establish a BWFCST Youth Advisory Board (YAB) the YAB would be used as a method of extending the engagement with young BWFC fans and giving young people a method of having their views, ideas and opinions represented in the development of Bolton Wanderers as part of the Bolton Community.

As part of this process we would like to have an elected members of the YAB from Secondary educational Establishments in the Bolton Borough. over the next few weeks we are looking to develop a constitution and organisational structure and would like to ask if you would like your school to become involved in this process.
