It is with great sadness that we reflect on the passing of our former Chairman Daniel Izza.
It is with great sadness that we reflect on the passing of our former Chairman Daniel Izza.
Daniel was instrumental in establishing the Supporters’ Trust and was a member of the original Steering Group that got the Trust off the ground in 2016 as the club entered a period of extreme turbulence.
Daniel became Chairman in June 2017 and worked tirelessly to advance the Trust’s objectives of security and stability for our beloved club. He used his expertise as a lawyer to great effect in making sense of the many legal and financial implications through the hugely difficult times the club has faced in the last few years.
Daniel was also pivotal in securing the ACV on the Stadium which provided protection against a swift and secret sale of the ground without consultation. This remains one of the Supporters’ Trust’s greatest achievements and a lasting legacy for Daniel.
Daniel was introduced to the BWFCST back in 2016 by our great friend, Guðni Bergsson, who has been in contact with us to ask that we pass on his sincere condolences.
Guðni added: “Daniel was a great guy, a friend and such a devoted Bolton supporter. He will be sorely missed. My thoughts are with Gail and his family and friends”
The Trust Board would like to extend our sincerest condolences to his partner Gail and all the Izza family at this terrible time. We would also like to thank Daniel for his unwavering support of the BWFCST. May you rest in peace.
