BWFC Supporters' Trust interim Chairman, Richard Hurst and Steering Group member, Bill Dawson met with Dean Holdsworth on Tuesday 12 April 2016 for an informal, introductory chat which covered a wide range of subjects, from the Trust’s progress, its role as a democratically accountable voice of the supporters, and its aims to involve supporters in the running (and where possible, ownership) of the club, to the Trust's desire to help engage a transparent and sustainable BWFC in the wider Bolton community.
The Challenge Ahead
They also shared memories of Dean's time as a player with the club, and discussed his early impressions of the challenge ahead. It was clear that Dean wants to bring stability and sustainability to BWFC and to build its community engagement. He spoke enthusiastically about bringing back better times on the pitch as well!
Dean agreed that it was important to build a good working relationship between the club's ownership and management and BWFCST, and that all were keen to maintain a regular dialogue.
More Transparency
BWFCST also welcomes new Chairman Ken Anderson’s comments reported in the local press that he confirmed his intention is to be more transparent with fans and that he would also be looking to work with the Trust.
Early days, but Richard and Bill felt the meeting had been a progressive and positive one and BWFCST look forward to building on this for the benefit of the club, the supporters and the community.
